Dutch is tall, lanky, and carries herself with her shoulders hunched. Her demeanor varies wildly with her tumultuous mood, ranging from affable and friendly to misanthropic and reserved.

Dutch's favored color is black, and her style of dress is a little punk-rock in sensibility. She likes cool jackets, stompy combat boots, and various baubles and jewelry. Her ear lobes are pierced twice, and she has one helix piercing, all given to her during her time in Red Talon and thankfully never infected.

She keeps her hair meticulously bleached whenever she can find supplies, and likes to paint her fingernails bright colors and wear smudgy eyeliner.

Jeremy Holland, father. High school chemistry teacher. Died in March 2012.
Cassidy Holland, mother. Living in New Mexico at the time of the outbreak.
Autumn Holland, twin sister. Died of black fever in March 2012.

cw: death of family members Dutch's twin sister Autumn contracted the Black Fever in late February 2012 and died weeks before the zombie outbreak began. On Day Zero, Dutch and her father Jeremy were on their yearly family fishing trip, which they decided to take as usual in their process of mourning Autumn. When they were accosted by a single stray zombie in the woods, they were rescued by Ned Herrera, a park ranger who took them back to his Firewatch tower to shelter in place with a handful of other survivors.

Jeremy was the first member of the Firewatch group to die, getting mobbed by zombies on a scavenging run in the first few weeks of the outbreak. Another member of the group, Jem Carmichael, assumed guardianship of Dutch after her father's death. When the group split up a few months after the outbreak, Dutch and Jem stuck together for a time. Eventually he was injured and unbeknownst to Dutch, taken to Prescott's Field Hospital. Feeling abandoned and knowing she stood little chance of surviving on her own, Dutch approached Red Talon and enlisted with them.

This was a mistake she came to regret nearly immediately; although the group gave her a new name, a support system, and extensive training in the fields of survival, zombie-hunting, and weaponsmithing, she hated the strict military structure of the organization. Along with a few other people who were looking to desert, Dutch managed to steal a good amount of weapons, equipment, and a vehicle from Red Talon before taking off.

The group found and settled the abandoned Container Fort quickly, and Dutch has been working to build up its defenses and population since then.

MISCELLANEOUS
